Carrie Vanhouten is the creator and co-founder of The Menopause Monologues and the founder of The Energy ApotheCarrie, a creative healing space in the Bay Area where she practices Reiki and facilitates a wide variety of workshops. She holds a degree in Theater from Marymount Manhattan College, a background that informs her work in performance-based storytelling and advocacy. She is a member of an improv comedy group which regularly performs around the Bay. As a visual artist, Vanhouten’s mixed media art has been sold nationwide.

Through The Menopause Monologues, she utilizes her theatrical training to provide a platform for women to share their experiences and address the stigmas surrounding menopause.
