Jayne Taini is THRILLED TO BE BACK WITH THESE WOMEN to tell these stories. Taini moved to LA with The Cider House Rules (Mark Taper Forum-Garland Award) and opened the Wallis Annenberg with Parfumerie.
She performed in The Brothers Karamazov (Circle X Theatre, LADCC Award), Lost in Yonkers (La Mirada) and in Uncle Vanya (Pasadena Playhouse). The Los Angeles Times Chief Theatre Critic, Charles McNulty, cited her performance as Marina deserving of a “Stanislavsky Award ...(she) conveyed for me the holy substance of this beautiful play.”
Locally, she has appeared in many shows with EST LA, Circle X, Evidence Room, Moving Arts and Echo Theatre. Taini’s regional credits include: The Normal Heart (Pioneer Square) running concurrently with the original run at The Public in NYC, The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Third Rail) Outside Mullingar (B Street), A Doll’s House, When We Were Married (Seattle Rep), Oktoberfest (Empty Space), Snow Falling on Cedars, Doubt (Portland Center Stage), A Life with Father (Denver Center), A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur (Hartford Stage), and Enchanted April (Pasadena & Cleveland Play House).
Some favorite roles include Mother Courage (Canadian Fringe), and Mrs. Alving in Ghosts, Bottom & Demetruis in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Recent television and film include Emmy-award winning The PITT (Season Two), I’m Beginning to See the Light, opposite Jack Huston and Abby Cornish , Big Sky and The Resident.
Recurring roles include Marsha on Station 19, her “indelible, heart-wrenching performance” as Doris in Unbelievable opposite Toni Collette and Merritt Weaver, Harriet Greenberg on Ray Donovan opposite Liev Schreiber, Eloise in ABC’s Dustin Black’s When We Rise and Viv on Shameless.
Film roles include her “incredibly raw, vulnerable performance as Dena” in Sanzaru, Isabel’s Garden as Grace opposite Karen David and in Ben Affleck’s The Way Back. She is quite excited about two recent Short Film projects making the festival rounds: Ownership, The Stairs, plus the pilot Bad Alice.
