The Menopause Monologues Movement is our nonprofit arm, expanding our work through education, advocacy, and community programming.

The Menopause Monologues is more than a show - it's a movement. Our work is carried out through two organizations: The Menopause Monologues, LLC, and The Menopause Monologues Movement, a California nonprofit corporation (501(c)(3) status pending) built to deepen our impact. Together, they live out our three pillars: Listen, Share, Serve.

Laura Bergman About me: I am a nonprofit leader who has spent more than twenty-five years running organizations and raising millions of dollars. Since retiring in 2022, I have devoted my time to teaching, mentoring, and serving on boards (including Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette, and Z Space in San Francisco), and writing for the joy of it. My short story, "Menopause Showdown," was an Adult Nonfiction Finalist in the San Francisco Writers Conference Contest in 2026. I also performed the piece for “Menopause Monologues,” the show. My memoir, “Waiting for Miles,” will be published in Spring of 2027 by Sibylline Press. I hold a B.S. in Political Science, and an M.S. in Public Policy & Management. My husband and I live in Lafayette, and have two kids who have flown the coop.

Heather Stoneman is a partner at a women-owned and operated law firm with offices in San Francisco and Walnut Creek, where she helps individuals and families plan for the future through estate planning and family legacy planning. A dedicated community volunteer, Heather has served on numerous nonprofit boards and is the Past President of Temple Isaiah in Lafayette.

Heather is also the proud mom of two incredible children. This fall, she'll send her oldest off to college while continuing to cheer on her younger child through high school, giving her a front-row seat to the joys, challenges, and rapid transitions that define this season of life. Fortunately, she has spent the last five years performing with an East Bay comedy improv troupe, which has taught her to embrace uncertainty, think on her feet, and laugh when things don't go according to plan, skills that have proven surprisingly transferable to midlife.

Heather was drawn to Menopause Monologues because it sits at the intersection of two things she values deeply: meaningful conversations and shared laughter. As someone experiencing many of the joys, mysteries, and occasional absurdities of this stage of life, and married to a woman with her own menopause story, Heather understands firsthand the importance of creating space for honest dialogue. She believes that when we can laugh together about the things nobody warned us about, we can support one another through them as well.

When she's not practicing law, volunteering, or on stage trying to turn audience suggestions into comedy, Heather is delighted to help amplify the stories, voices, and experiences that make Menopause Monologues such a powerful community.

Kathleen Olson is a Residential Landscape Designer in the San Francisco Bay Area.  She takes pride in collaborating with her clients to create beautiful spaces to enhance their connection to nature and the outdoors.  Kathleen has been an active volunteer in schools and nonprofit boards most of her adult life.  In addition to the Menopause Monologues, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Town Hall Theatre, in Lafayette, CA.  Kathleen has been a lifelong Theatre and Arts lover and supporter, and was privileged to be in the inaugural cast of the Menopause Monologues.  Working with like-minded women creating a production that speaks to long misunderstood and neglected female experiences has been a joy and revelation.  Kathleen is excited to see this experience brought to as many women (and non-women!) worldwide as possible.  The importance of bringing personal stories, laughter, and accurate information to break the stigma and fear of the Menopause years cannot be overstated.
